*My daughter and her cousin both at age 2 years and 4 months. Today marks the eleventh birthday of my niece. I remember the day she was born, we went to the hospital to meet her and I had my little girl with me at 2.5 weeks of age. Even in that short amount of time of a two week difference in age it made my niece look so tiny and my girl so big. They grow so fast from the moment they enter this world.
While my niece and daughter can be opposites, they do share a unique bond that I pray will always last. They went to preschool together for two years, they have a secret handshake that they do every.single.time.they.meet, and they just work well together.
Their differences (my niece is the soccer-pro who is very much into skateboards, and enjoys the more rugged side of life ... and my girl, the dancer who enjoys art, pink and the cautious side of life) make them work well together. We live just miles apart, and my girl is excited for eighth through twelfth grade when the two will finally be back at the same school. I suspect that even if they hang around different crowds, they will still stop for their secret handshake in the halls.
My niece brings us so much joy; she is a hard worker, and I am so excited to see where she takes herself in life. Because she has already grown into a wonderful person with a caring heart, the sweetest smirk, and confidence.Happy Birthday, M!!!

How special for the two girls.
How is the friend that you blogged about about a month ago?
My friend's niece that had the major spinal surgery got to go home last week!! They are amazed at her progress, she is working hard with Physical Therapy and was sent home w/o a wheelchair to encourage her movement and strength. Although she continues with some medical challenges, she is doing great considering. Thanks for asking, Tina!!
Nice that your daughter has a cousin her age, especially since she doesnt have a sister. There is something in a bond between family. Doesnt matter how little you have in common, its nice to know they are always there.
