Today, the class started working on sprints (aka: mini races) against their classmates. My daughter has a healthy competitive streak like her father, so she was not going to be "taking it easy" as suggested by her mother.

Swim Practice
Perhaps my daughter is going through a growth spurt, or we've just been that busy in end of the school year activities; but she has been sleeping longer and still complaining she's tired. I knew she would rather skip swim practice today, but she agreed to go after I suggested to just "do your best, practice your technique, no need for speed." Yeah, coming only from a non-competitive person.

Watching my son swim is a real treat. Taking to the water in preschool and swimming twice a week throughout Kindergarten, he has come far in a short amount of time. It is fun to see him work hard, studying his teacher's instructions, and pushing through even when his coordination on some new strokes have not caught up to his mind knowledge.
My son grinned and smirked when I pointed out his muscles in this next photo.
So envious of my children's swimming ability!
