And then there were roses ...

"That was awesome!" Those were the first words spoken from my girl as I lifted her off the stage from last night's much anticipated dance recital. She owned her two dances with her amazing facial expressions, knowledge of her dances, and cooperative muscles.

That morning, she woke to a sign outside her door from her little brother which read:

"You Rock!! I can't wait for tonight."

Next to the sign was a bag with her initials on it. Inside the bag was an old key chain, a yellow highlighter, a sharpened and well worn pencil with some random store logo printed on, and a necklace that actually already belonged to her.

To him, he had reached into his junk drawer and pulled out with love a gift for his awe-inspiring big sister. To her, it was just so very cute and sweet, that she giggled and gave him a genuine hug and thank you.

That is how we started yesterday ... and we ended with roses.
