My son tested for his Taekwondo belt last Friday night and today he was presented with his Blue Belt. He is happy to have accomplished another level. His best TKD friend trains and tests right along side of my son, and together they make a great team.
They are so synchronized during training and testing, that even if you don't know what you are looking for or at when one does a TKD routine, seeing the two boys do there Pomse together is really incredible. Could it possibly even be ... graceful? I can't think of another word. Stirred-with-so-much-energy-and-strength-and- manliness-that-it-makes-you-want-to-break-out-and-work-up-a-sweat-right-along-with-them?
It seems like a whirlwind in all the belt colors that he has achieved in one year, but that is a good thing. His goal is to continue until he receives that famous Black Belt around his waist. He said that he will then decide if he wants to keep going to earn different degrees of Black Belt.
He has calculated that if he continues at his current rate of progress, that he could potentially become a Black Belt before exiting Middle School in four years. Wow! But until then, we will celebrate the current color Blue!!
