My husband's cousin was an early teen when we got married and we asked him to be in our wedding party. He was responsible for escorting my cousin up the aisle to light the candles before the ceremony took place. Time slipped away from us, and before we knew it, we were attending his wedding and thinking how was it possible that now he was old enough to start his journey in marriage?
Our second child was born five months before his first child. Both boys. We got together one night and hung out with the babies. It was fun and we kept in contact here and there. But then it took a connection over the passing of my husband's and his cousin's Grandma a few years ago that really brought us together. Something happened that can't be explained, but the connection was strong and blossomed.
Their sons came to visit us this summer while they were staying with their Grandparents, and then we had the fun of visiting their house during our Yellowstone Adventure. The boys played crazy together, our girl had adult-time with us, and their dog was the hit of the party with his sweet eyes and cute personality that melted my heart!
We are grateful for the family connection that took hold - and we pray that some day we will not live so far away! I would enjoy hanging more often in person with our cousins!
