The Big Climb

I have an amazing sister-in-law. She not only is a really cool friend, one that you can hang out and be yourself without judgment, but she is also an amazing athlete with a big heart.

In our neck of the woods, we have a fund raiser to fight the battle of Leukemia and it is called The Big Climb. It is hosted in a tall downtown office building where participants raise funds to race up the timed stairwell, or the untimed stairwell. She chose the timed stairwell. She raced up 69 flights of stairs, which is 19 steps per flight, a total of 1,311 steps, with 788 feet of vertical elevation.

I am proud to announce that she accomplished it in 13 minutes and 16 seconds. As my brother said, she was finished by the time his latte was ready for pickup at the lobby's Starbucks. She was in the top 10% for the fastest race up The Big Climb by women.

She rocks to help fund the cure for Leukemia!
