Zumba!

In the never-ending downpour of our Friday, my very cool and fun-loving friend and I decided that we were going to hang our evening at a Zumba workout. Having never been, and seeing that this was a Free start up class sponsored by my son's Taekwondo school, we thought what better place to be on a Friday night!!

Zumba is a Latin-inspired aerobic dance workout. We kinda knew that going in. But what we didn't realize was that our little bit aged bods were not really ready for all the hip-moving-body-spiraling-arms-shimming-movements.

Here is my friend:

And here is me:
However, I think we both needed the stress reliever. And when this song played - it was all for my buddy!!  She is waiting patiently anxiously  ah, she and her family just want their phone to ring with news of their Ethiopian Princess(es) coming home to them!  That was by far my favorite Zumba song last night.

Other than that, we enjoyed commentary about our own bodies not working like the other cool chicks in the class that came with Zumba-wear and who could actually make it look as intended!!  We were the Mommas in the back with the gym wear-on and "our own form" of Latin dance interpretations.

A blast - a good night to just let it out with a buddy and laugh!! Healthy Starbucks (seriously, just fruit and water - we didn't dare risk sabotaging our full-effort workout on the good stuff at 'Bucks) to end the evening with lots and lots of good chat time.

THANK YOU, D!!!  I had a Fabulous Zumba evening with you!!!

Did you do the same moves that were on the video? Song had a great beat.

Well if some of the moves were like the video, I say you did a great job.
Hope your friend hears soon. They are very special people. It is so nice to hear good things.
