Playing with light ... and building a house

As we were sitting by the campfire one night, my husband thought it would be fun to play with light. He asked the kids to grab the flashlight, and then he taught them how to draw while he captured it on his Canon. Amazing results. How fun are these!!!

And for those that thought camping was all about relaxation - then consider the thought that my son and husband built a house while camping!!

On a whim, truly during the final hours before departure, we ran to the one-stop-mega-grocery store to finish our To Do List. While walking through the Arts and Crafts isle to get to the Sock Department, I happened to notice a bag of Popsicle sticks. I asked my son if he would like to take them camping along with some wood glue - giving him a creative outlet during those times when he might need a creative outlet.
It was the best on whim purchase of the entire trip. The boys worked on building a log cabin; using the Popsicle sticks as the frame, finding tree limbs on the forest floor to cut to size for the walls, rocks from the beachy lake shore to embellish the chimney, and moss for the roof.
Turned out fantastic! What a neat weeks worth of creating here and there during the "down time" while camping.

Hope you brought the cabin home. It'll look so cute in your landscaping.
