Fun!

Last night was a great night of fun. There were Swedish and Norwegian jokes told by the host, our Pastor of Worship, who wore a very red Smorgasbord-type of suit jacket. The louder a table group laughed at his jokes, the quicker that table group was dismissed to the Smorgasbord dinner line. There was a lot of laughter!
We were entertained with a short and comical play on stage during dessert. The premise was unique in that the play was about a traveling drama team trying to perform their play of the Christmas Story, when half of their drama team were snowed in at an airport many states away.

Because the play must go-on, the director pulled a stage hand at the last minute to perform the Shepard boy's role, with his script in hand, of course! Comedy erupted throughout; for example, when the character of Mary had to play two roles; Mary and the Inn Keeper's Wife's Sister - and they were in the same scene!

It was very fun and well done with the true spirit of Christmas still being shown throughout the whimsical comedy. To hear the laughter roll through the church's gymnasium was warming. Truly a great kickoff to the season.
We wandered our way home through neighborhoods looking at Christmas decorations and listening to Christmas music. We happened upon a house with acres of land; all decked out with lights to music. You'll have to take my word for it that it was so well done. I didn't feel it was appropriate to snap my camera with a flash to ruin the ambiance of the other stopper-bys.

Then we happened upon this man's house. He was outside, with a small bonfire going of his leftover pine brush (it smelled wonderful), and was tinkering with his lights.
The rooftop, which was not fully lit, read Time Bandit Santa.  The back of the motor home parked in the driveway also had a large Time Bandit sticker on it. We are curious if he was part of the Deadliest Catch series filmed of Alaskan Crabbers/Fishermen. There was a boat named Time Bandit on that show. Being close enough to Alaska, I was so tempted to ask, but couldn't get my nerve up. He seemed a little intense ... on his design and happenings in his yard.

A FUN night.

How was the food?

Sounds like a fun family night.

Wow, I'd hate to pay that man's electric bill and especially with the high rates we have here in CT.
