Yesterday was our dog's birthday and yes, we celebrated the occasion. We all know that Cora does not understand nor care that it was her birthday, but it was an excuse to have cake!! Next year, however, we will be giving her gift first, because once our four legged buddy had a taste of ice cream, she wanted nothing else to do with anything or anybody.
Birthday Pose, son 9, dog 5, daughter 11:
Regardless of what the frosting tub advertised, it really did not cover a two-layer 9" round cake, but it was for a dog's celebration and I was not about to go to the store to buy another just to cover the missing spots. I love my dog, but that would be going over the edge. Funfetti cake was the cake of choice.
Cora did not get cake, but she did get two small scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Cora with a final birthday pose, not wanting to get off the chair to see her toy, or go outside for fresh air, or go lay down, or go in her kennel. She was steadfast in ... staying!right!there!because!that!ice!cream!was!awesome!
We are so grateful for our dog who truly is, with out a doubt, the best buddy a kid or adult could ask for in a pet. She is calm, obedient, silly, cuddly, curious, and just sticking cute! We love you, Girl!

Cora shares a birthday with my niece, Bella!
We always used to celebrate our dog, Calvin's birthday (the one who died last year.) We would make him a steak or get him some other special treat. We always remembered his b'day because it was the same as my moms. Our other dogs, we only know approximately when they were born. No one bothered to write down the exact day! (Sad!)
My beagle, from Talbot Hill,& Starbuck Torbay, Sir Galahad will be 6 on April 6th. He loves ice cream. He is now on a grain free diet, trying to stop his allergies. He is so cute and loving, but goes crazy for food.
