Watch out Ace of Cakes

My son's interest has lead him to stay in the kitchen since entering Kindergarten. He has always wanted to be hands on with anything food related: planning menus, grocery shopping, cooking, baking, serving, even creating his own recipes. He. Loves. It. All.

It was a few months ago when his Food Network Magazine came in the mail and he noticed a picture and recipe on how to make ice cream look like Steak, and turn pound cake into French Fries. He thought it looked like fun to give it a try, and so he planned the Birthday Cake for his Grandad.
However, he decided to make a little twist on the recipe and substitute the ice cream for a chocolate cake. He scribed the grocery list for the ingredients, gathered them at the store, and spent solo time in the kitchen to complete the gift for my dad.
The end result was amazing. My teen girl instantly took a photo and posted on her Instagram album - something that my son was beaming over - he actually made it on his big sister's page!!
My son had the idea to get real ketchup single serving containers to add his seedless strawberry jam to mimic Ketchup. We didn't have the single paper cups, so we ran into McDonald's ordering a small sweet tea with small fries, and rather than filling up the cups with their ketchup, we just slipped them empty into our bag.

The small packets of Salt and Pepper were real, but were just decor for the final touch.
My dad was impressed with his creative cake made by his Grandson. Not only did it look amazing, but the quality of taste was equal to perfection.

Well done, Son!! Watch out Duff of Ace of Cakes!!!

This is unreal. How amazing!! I was confused by your post title and the photo of a steak and fries until, of course, I read on. LOVE IT.
