From Dance Costume to Worms

We have purchased our garden supplies and the kids and husband are ready to plant.  I am fortunate to have a gardener in my family and that he is spurring the kids to enjoy the love of gardening too.  They not only like to dig in the dirt and find worms and critters, but they enjoy the benefits of their hard labor.
My son especially will be known to tend to the garden all summer.  Making sure it is well watered and observing the crops.  He enjoys picking the vegetables and cleaning them off too.
This year in our two planter boxes they are planting: corn, pickling cucumbers, dill, sweet tomatoes, celery, green beans, and sugar snap peas. In a separate container they are planting red potatoes. If we could just get the sun to shine and stay, then we will be set!

It looks like it stopped raining there but cool. It has been perfect summer weather here with mid 70's to mid 80's, sunny, dry air, soft breezes. Wish I could send some of it to you.

Tina ~ you have no idea how much we wish for your weather!!! So tired of the gray/cold/wet. It was still sprinkling when they were planting.

It's been sunny with blue skies, no clouds, dry air, in the 80's and couldn't be better. I've been inside all morning doing laundry and cleaning. My plan was to finish upstairs today but the weather is too nice. It'll have to wait and my book and the deck are calling me. Wish I could share our weather with you.
