My husband is a great business network person and came home with a new set of business contacts after a conference he had attended in a different State a month ago. A few particular contacts have kept in touch and they have been brainstorming business stuff. One of the contacts made plans to come up to our neck of the woods. That day was yesterday.
My hubby met him and his girlfriend at the links to play a round of golf, and then they came over to our house for a late lunch - compliments of our Chef. My son did a beautiful job of making his amazing Fish Tacos with Watermelon Salsa. He blew the socks off our guests. Seconds were had and my son felt really good about his success.
My kiddos were treated to an evening with my parents while my hubby and I ventured to the city with our new friends to take in the sights of our town and a Major League Baseball game. It was fun to see our city through the eyes of a tourist. They found many breathtaking, fun, unique places and views, things that I found to be traditional and "Oh yeah, that." It was a nice reminder that our town is pretty cool, and not to take it for granted.
Although our pro-team lost the game, it was fun to hang and take in the fun of our club. It is always nice to meet new people who are great conversationalists. They were a lot of fun and I hope they return in the future to take in more of our city and spend more time together.
Today took us back to the ballpark, but this time it was our daughter's boyfriend's team at the State Tournament. While my hubby had to catch up on work, my son and I cheered on the team with my girl. The first game was a hard one to watch as they were heavily scored against - and we experienced a (thankfully) short-lived rain squall.
We were a bit ill-prepared for that, so we toughed it out with excellent patience under the pouring rain with no umbrella sporting our shorts. Surprisingly we dried off rather quickly for the amount of rain poured upon us. It has been nice temps around here the last few days despite the lack of sun.
Traveling home to deliver our CCI Dog to "off work" status, changing our clothes to more appropriate rain attire, and squeezing in fireworks shopping before my girl and I headed back for his last tournament game for the day. This time our team outnumbered the scoreboard and the boys did great on Offense and Defense. It was nice to see them so happy and on the other side with a win.
Being out in the weather - peak-a-boo sun, clouds, and rain at the ballpark for the last two days was a lot of fun. Feels like summer! Just come back, Sunshine, and stay for the rest of the months we have....
